The company began when Dr. Terry E. Riemer, PhD EE, a veteran engineer whose early career included working with NASA to develop the Saturn V rocket for the Apollo Missions, joined with Jim Tedesco, MS EE, a graduate student of Dr. Riemer’s who harnessed the vision for applying unique artificial intelligence based algorithm development to business solutions. With Tedesco’s focus on solving practical problems, together the two engineers helped co-found Sygnology, LLC, an affiliate of IET, securing an $18-million contract with Shell for proprietary technology that solved problems such as extending valve life, predicting and diagnosing pipe leaks, and identifying precursors to wear and damage in rotating equipment for one of the world’s largest oil corporations.

Now these same engineers have formed IET to expand into a broad spectrum of industries, both large and small. Applying theory rooted in digital signal processing and communications systems, the company offers solutions for fields such as oil & gas, biomedical device, telecommunications device, aerospace and more.
